Your mail will be treated by the Citizens' Enquiries Unit (Ask EP) in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EC) No 45/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2000 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the institutions and bodies of the Community and on the free movement of such data. In order to handle your enquiry efficiently, your message may be transmitted for reply or consultation to Europe Direct or another service of the European Union. The data controller is the Head of Unit of the Citizens' Enquiries Unit. Personal data in your mail will be used solely for the purpose of handling your request. Data on age, gender, profession, nationality and country of residence are also used for compiling statistics. Data will be retained in the service's archives for a maximum duration of 5 years, after which it will be destroyed. You have the right to access and rectify the data concerning you by contacting the EP's Citizens' Enquiries Unit, and the right to have recourse to the European Data Protection Supervisor.
