The LIBE Committee had an exchange of views on an alleged fraudulent visa scheme existent in Poland, which, according to media reports allowed privileged access for some applicants from third countries to visas that allowed them to enter and circulate in the Schengen area.

On 14 of February, the LIBE Committee held an exchange of views with the Commission, Italian authorities, and a legal expert on the migration and asylum Protocol signed between Italy and Albania.

The thirteenth meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Scrutiny Group on Europol (JPSG) will take place on 20-21 September 2023 in Brussels. The JPSG brings together Members of national parliaments and the European Parliament to fulfil the scrutiny and oversight on the activities of Europol, including on fundamental rights.

On Tuesday 18 July 2023 during the LIBE Committee meeting and with the participation of the AFET Committee, MEPs will take part in an exchange of views with Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson to discuss the state of play of EU cooperation with Tunisia in the field of migration.

To mark World Refugee Day at the European Parliament, the LIBE, DEVE, and DROI Committees have hosted an exchange of views, focusing on forgotten crises as well as the importance of inclusion and finding solutions for displaced people who have found refuge in a foreign country.
