The Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM), in association with the Special Committee on Artificial Intelligence in a Digital Age (AIDA), held a public hearing on “Women and digitalisation” on 28 October 2020 between 14:15 - 15:45 remotely.

"How to tackle the gender digital gap? Which gender aspects need to be taken into consideration when developing AI policies and legislation? How to increase the participation of girls and women in digital fields?"

Such questions were raised while exploring the gender aspects of the digital transition and of artificial intelligence, in the context of several dossiers on which the FEMM committee is currently working: "Closing the digital gender gap : women's participation in the digital economy", "Promoting gender equality in science, technology, engineering, and math education and careers" and "Shaping the digital future of Europe".
