Hearings today: Hogan, Moscovici, Bieńkowska, Georgieva and Vestager

Phil Hogan, Pierre Moscovici, Elżbieta Bieńkowska, Kristalina Georgieva and Margrethe Vestager are the next candidate commissioners to appear at the EP for three-hour long interviews.

The hearings for the new European Commission take place at the European Parliament from 29 September until 7 October

Today, 2 October, the following hearings take place (all times are CET):


Phil Hogan, the Irish nominee for agriculture and rural development, will be heard by the agricultural committee from 09.00. Watch it live here and follow the commitee tweets.


France's Pierre Moscovici is commissioner-designate for economic and financial affairs. He will be questioned by the economic and monetary affairs committee from 9.00. Watch it live here and follow live tweets from the committee.


Elżbieta Bieńkowska, from Poland, has been assigned the portfolio for the internal market, industry, entrepreneurship and small and medium-sized enterprises. She will be questioned in a joint hearing of the industry, internal market and consumer protection committees from 13.30. Watch the hearing live and follow live tweets from the committees.


Bulgarian Kristalina Georgieva will face the budget and legal affairs committees over her proposed portfolio for budget and human resources from 13.30. Watch the hearing live and follow live tweets from the committees.


And finally  Margrethe Vestager, from Denmark, will have to respond to questions about her competition portfolio when she appears in front of the economic and monetary affairs committee at 18.00. Watch the hearing live and follow live tweets from the committee.
