Un lavoratore distaccato è un lavoratore inviato dal proprio datore di lavoro a fornire un servizio in un altro Stato membro dell'UE, su base temporanea. La libertà di stabilimento e la libera prestazione di servizi sono libertà fondamentali sancite dal trattato sul funzionamento dell'Unione europea (TFUE).
